For Senior Management, From Senior Management – September 2010 Edition

September 2, 2010

W. Michael Scott - CEO of FMSI

In the past couple of months I have heard more concerns from clients and prospects about their low volume branches and what to do about them. FMSI took a look at all of the branches we processed during the month of June 2010 and found that 38% of the branches have less than 5,000 teller transactions a month. Those branches teller transaction volumes represented just 16.6% of the total volume. That is a lot of overhead to carry for such a small percentage of business. FMSI is further reviewing this topic to share in future publications and would love to have your insights.

What are your perspectives on low volume branches?
