Active Mobile Users at the Big Banks

Bank Innovations recently published the below chart highlighting the active mobile users at the big banks.  While the numbers are unsurprisingly showing a steady adoption rate, the bigger question is how is this helping financial institutions?


We suspect the vast majority of these users are simply using their mobile devices to check account balances.  An activity that has much greater revenue potential is leveraging phones to set-up branch appointments.  Bank of America recently announced that they have 10,000 branch appointments set-up to meet branch personnel each week (per CNN).
